Q & A

* How long have you been riding and what was your first machine?

I started at 13 years old  on a Honda Big Red 220 three wheeler,  but didn't take it seriously until 7 yrs ago. My first real quad was a 2013 polaris scrambler 850.

*What is it about riding that makes you enjoy it so much?

So for me riding causes my mind to go silent, I rarely have nothing in my brain like always a song, a noise, a thought, a ugh all the time. While on my quad it's quite but it's load all around me. If that make sense. It’s a sense of peace for me.

* What is your style of riding?

*Where is your absolute favorite place to ride?

West Virginia, Southern Hatfield McCoy and Beer Can Alley

I’d have to say I love trail riding over all because you never know what conditions you’re going to find. Could be rocky, muddy, or hills.

I have been riding since 2016 when I would only ride on the back as a passenger. I officially started riding by myself a 2013 Suzuki King Quad. In 2017 I got an Outlander 570 XMR and fell in love with CanAms. I really started riding trails and going into mud pits with this quad.

*What is it about riding that makes you enjoy it so much?

I enjoy just being able to do something that I never thought in my life I would do. I push myself every time I ride to become more confident in my skills.

* What is your style of riding?

I like trail riding. If I go into mud pits it is in mud that I know I wont get stuck in.

*Where is your absolute favorite place to ride?

I have many favorites but I would say Tall Pines in West Andover, NY.

Q & A

How long have you been riding?

I've been a passenger princess for almost 4 years and just started to ride solo September 2024. My first machine is the Polaris rzr.

*What is it about riding that makes you enjoy it so much?

This past August I hit the water at Lebanon Valley and I felt pure happiness and joy for the first time in a long time. I really love climbing up a good hill. For me riding is peace, it's being aware of nature and taking it all in. Gratitude for the out doors and the life I have.

*Where is your absolute favorite place to ride?

My favorite place to ride is “Beer Can Ally”  in West Virginia on the Outlaw trails. There's this one spot we stop at that life stands still.

Heather Byrne

2012 CanAm Outlander 1000 XT (Turned XMR).

I’ve been asked why I didn’t just get an XMR. The truth is when I first started riding, I had no idea how much I would end up loving mud and water. I also prefer the shorter wheel base and the G2 didn’t offer that with the 1000 in an XMR so instead, the machine that suits my style was developed over time. Lucky for me, my husband is a mechanic, ultimately allowing me to take advantage of free labor by adding to the ‘hone do’ list.

      The many upgrades include:

  • QSC REV X primary clutch
  • Dalton black violet spring
  • Gates Redline belt
  • Mud N Wheels XME rear differential with properly phased driveshaft
  • BNR ECU tune
  • RJWC mud edition single exhaust
  • RJWC floorboards
  • Stage 3 Elka shocks
  • BRP radiator relocate
  • Viper Elite winch with Amsteel Blue synthetic line
  • Tiger Tail
  • Quad Logic LED rear lights
  • Custom LED reverse lights
  • UNI air filter
  • BRP mud strap
  • BRP snorkel kit
  • BRP aluminum handle bars with hand guards
  • Cecco steering stem brace
  • Ricochet skid plate kit
  • System 3 SB-4 bead lock wheels and 32” Terache Aztex tires
  • Goldfinger left handed throttle
  • Apache dry box
  • Ostacruiser gas cap
  • Ostacruiser synthetic winch rope
  • Tying It Forward winch strap and other accessories

Remember she’s a 2012 and was an XT! This old girl has come a long way!

Coming Soon

RJWC LED headlights, and who knows probably more zip ties.

Q & A

* How long have you been riding and what was your first machine?

I started riding in my teens, primarily in the Catskills Mountains at my father’s hunting cabin few and far between. I rode a Honda Rancher 350, shifting gears and dreaming of power steering. I didn’t even know what a Can-Am was and how much it would change the game until my husband, James Tait, brought one home. The rest is history. We now own four Can-Ams, the newest a Renegade XXC 1000 dedicated to trail riding only. The other two, a 2018 and 2022 Renegade XMR 100 are mud certified.

*What is it about riding that makes you enjoy it so much?

I have a love of the outdoors and adventure. This hobby has been a beautiful marriage of the two. When I’m out there in the woods, my mind is nowhere else. I am solely focused on what’s in front of me. In this crazy world, not many things are capable of offering that kind of escape. James and I love having this time to share with one another. Facing challenges and problem solving together, head on, has been priceless. Meeting new people, traveling to new destinations, and making memories along the way has been the cherry on top. The older I get the more I realize I need to keep it moving, find joy and go play outside.

#1 2018 Can Am Renegade XMR 1000R

I am a late bloomer to the game. I spent most of my life restoring American muscle cars, so I’ve always had a passion for anything with an engine. I actually only started riding about 14 years ago. I was first introduced at my wife’s father’s cabin in upstate New York. I was immediately hooked. I began looking for any machine to get my fix, but then stumbled across Ostacruiser You Tube videos. After seeing the abuse he put his Can Ams through, I knew I had to have one.

Upgrades have included:

QSC Rev X RMT primary clutch with a Bad Ass belt, Dalton Black/Violet secondary spring, Specialized ATV Billet rear XMR differential, Plateau Fabrication radiator relocate kit, Lucky 7 rear rack, Cecco steering stem brace, OMD 2.5” bar riser, OMD gas cap, OMD fairlead, swapped out winch line to Amsteel Blue synthetic and Warn Epic hook, OMC air box seal, Modshop slip on exhaust, 32” Terache Aztec tires, BRP heated grips, FAR Mudding footwells, FAR Mudding red halo kit, upgraded to the 2021-up Visco 4LOK front differential, BNR ECU tune, Elka Stage 3 XMR shocks

COMING SOON:

Maybe an STM billet secondary clutch, but about done! Of course any repairs as needed along the way

#2 2022 Can Am Renegade XMR 1000R

Upgrades: QSC Rev X RMT primary clutch, STM billet secondary 35helix/Gold spring, Gates Redline belt, Dynojet PV3 tuner with tunes from RVS Performance and Hightech Powersports, FAR Mudding floorboards, FAR Mudding 2.0 Halos, FAR Mudding rock lights, Arrow ATV rear rack, RJWC LED taillights, RJWC LED headlights, Warn VRX35 winch with synthetic line, Warn Epic hook, M31 Lok beadlock wheels/32” Assassinators, Cecco steering stem, OMD 2” billet riser, OMD billet gas cap, QuadLogic airbox seal, SLG cup holder, SLG Sniper slip on, SLG dry box storage system, TigerTail, Plateau Fabrication radiator relocate with Aultimate Off-road Hose kit.

COMING SOON:

Nothing! This one is finally done.

*What is it about riding that makes you enjoy it so much?

I love the escape it provides from the mundane Monday through Friday 9 to 5. I have met so many good people along the way and continue to meet every ride. My wife, Heather and I have this in common, and it’s a great way to spend our free time together. Send it !
